Mumbai Gullies, a game where you would play as a Indian protagonist walking through the unique landscape of Mumbai and inspired by the amazing contrast of life of Mumbai city.
The Grand Theft Auto (GTA) franchise is arguably one of the most loved video game franchises in India. However, India has never really delved deep into creating rich and engaging video games, with a few exceptions of course. In spite of all that, a new upcoming game is on the horizon, and is determined to place Indian gaming into mainstream media once and for all.
Enter GameEon Studios, and their CEO, Nikhil Malankar. Back in 2009, Nikhil was addicted to GTA: Vice City, and as a result, became fascinated with the process of exploring a pixelated Miami. So much so that he began to mod the game itself, and ended up creating a pixelated, microscopic Mumbai. Fast forward to 2013, where Nikhil founded GameEon Studios, and thus development began on the creation of a brand new RPG game known as Mumbai Gullies.
Mumbai Gullies is a third person, open world action adventure game. There is a high chance that the game might explore a fictional criminal underworld of Mumbai, similar to the likes of GTA. The player is able to use vehicles such as cars, trains, and even auto-rickshaws to traverse the bustling streets of the city. The map is largely based on Mumbai city, which is in Maharashtra. The game will reportedly allow players to explore real life locations such as the Bombay Stock Exchange, the slums of Dharavi, and even the Gateway of India, among others.
The player will adopt the role of an Indian street gangster. Nikhil has also stated that Mumbai Gullies will contain an engaging storyline, as well as various side activities and missions.

Mumbai Gullies Trailer-
It was in September 2021 when developers at GameEon Studios received an investment from Mumbai based investors for further development. The character models, and alpha gameplay footage of the game was showcased during the Indian Game Developer's Conference (IGDC) in the same year.
Moreover, Nikhil Malankar, who runs his own YouTube channel related to Game design and development in India, published a video on November 19th, 2021, in which he revealed the first ever gameplay footage of Mumbai Gullies.
In the video, Nikhil talks about the the various mechanics relating to the game, as well as a breakdown of 3 levels that players will get to experience. These include a Slum area, a sidewalk situated within the main city, and even a prison. Judging by the gameplay, it also becomes evident that the game will host tons of various firearms, which the player will be able to use against enemies. Nikhil also showcased a few driving mechanics.

When is the Mumbai Gullies game going to be released?
It is also worth noting that during IGDC 2021, Nikhil announced that the game would be released in two parts - Mumbai Gullies: - The Prologue, and Mumbai Gullies: - The Final Chapter. Both the games are expected to release in 2023 and 2025 respectively.
The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, and is set to be released in 2023 for the PC. No specific date has been mentioned for the game's release as of now. You can Wishlist the game on Steam, or on their official website.
